On September 22, the 11th anniversary of the official registration of "Gyumri Youth Initiative Centre" NGO. |
|
|
|
The December of “Gyumri Youth House” open youth centre started with "International Volunteer Day 2020" event organized by YIC, in which the centre volunteers and some of the students were rewarded for their volunteer work.
YIC NGO together with the UN Population Fund Armenia Office implemented the "Humanitarian Assistance to Artsakh Families" initiative, within the framework of which a series of courses and clubs were organized for the center's youth for a month, promoting the exchange of cultural values between Gyumri and Artsakh.
The "Delicious Artsakh Cuisine" initiative was implemented for Artsakh youth and their parents, within the framework of which zhengyalov hats, pakhlava and gata were made.

Courses on "Rapid Response in Emergency Situations", "First Aid", "Media Literacy" were conducted for Artsakh and Gyumri youth and "Positive Parenting" for parents.
UNICEF Armenia provided Christmas packages to the teenagers of Artsakh, Gyumri and Spitak from "Gyumri and Spitak Youth House" open youth centres, as well as gifts to Artsakh youth over 10 years old.
This month held Russian and English educational clubs , those helped to improve students’ language skills.
"Handicrafts" and "Soap-making" workshops were held, during which the young people from Artsakh and Gyumri made Christmas decorations and soaps from natural raw materials, which were presented at the New Year fair organized in LOFT Gyumri.
This month, the teenagers visited Avetik Isahakyan museum and Aslamazyan sisters’ gallery.
We ended the month with final event.

A meeting with representatives of educational institutions, cultural centers, public and state organizations of Spitak was held in the open youth center "Spitak Youth House". |

On the 10th of September the president of “Gyumri Youth Initiative Center” NGO Artur Najaryan with the head of the UN Population Fund Armenia office in Gyumri Tsovinar Harutyunyan and the responsible for the projects implemented by the Shirak region Narine Beglaryan and Eduard Israelian met with the governor of Shirak region Tigran Petrosyan.
During the meeting Tsovinar Harutyunyan presented the Programs implemented by the UN Population Fund in the Shirak region.

HELPING HAND FOR ARTSAKH FAMILIES |

|
In the first days of the second Artsakh war, the following organizations were created “Helping Hand For Artsakh Families” within the framework of which, since September, 80 families and 300 individuals of Artsakh have been provided with targeted and coordinated assistance.
🔸 Psychological,
🔸 Legal,
🔸 Guidance,
🔸 Non-formal education and entertainment activities (for children between 4-12, for youngsters between 13-18),
🔸 Provision of food, clothes, medical and other essentials.
“Helping Hand For Artsakh Families” the initiative is carried out by Gyumri YIC NGO, "Arevamanuk" foundation, KASA Gyumri, "Aregak" bakery, "Florence Gyumri" resturant, and "Design boutique.

On the 5th of December an event entitled "I am a volunteer" dedicated to the International Volunteer Day took place.
This year the format of the annual event was changed making the participation in the event available to the volunteers from organizations in Gyumri who were actively involved in humanitarian initiatives implemented by various organizations on a voluntary basis in crisis situations in Armenia and especially during the Artsakh war.

HUMANITARIAN ASSISTANCE TO ARTSAKH FAMILIES |

In the frames of the initiative “Humanitarian assistance to Artsakh families” Gyumri “Youth Initiative Centre” NGO provided the following assistance to 250 displaced people from Artsakh: - Constant needs assessment of the families, - Personal care and basic hygiene and household items, underwear and warm winter blankets, - Consultation and guidance on state social services and assistance programmes “Humanitarian assistance to Artsakh families” initiative is implemented by Gyumri “Youth Initiative Centre” NGO in cooperation with UNFPA Armenia.

LOCAL TRAINING FOR ESC MENTORS
|
|
|
On the 26th of December Gyumri “Youth Initiative Centre” NGO in the frames of the Info Centre for Erasmus+ Youth and European Solidarity Corps Programmes in Armenia held a 1-day introductory training course on ESC mentorship in Gyumri. |
|
|
On December 28, during the event dedicated to the 12th anniversary of Gyumri YIC NGO. |
|
|
2020 ended, it was full of challenges and difficulties, but despite all this, we met the year 2021 with the power of creating a new one and devoted ourselves to the responsible task of turning it into a year full of achievements. |
