Dear readers, we are happy to present the monthly newsletter, which will tell you about our organization activities done in September.

We continue to expand our cooperation with youth organizations.
During this month, we signed two Memorandums of Understanding.
One of the memorandums was signed with the “Gyumri State Music College named after Kara-Murza” SNCO on youth cooperation.
|

|
|
|
The most important platform for cooperation in the youth field was created as a result of Memorandum of Understanding signed between the 7 institutions operating in the youth field. The platform is called Union of Youth Organizations.
The memorandum was signed by: Gyumri “Youth Initiative Centre” NGO, “Armenian Progressive Youth” NGO, “Youth Cooperation Center of Dilijan”, KASA Fondation Humanitaire Suisse, Centre for Community Mobilization and Support, “Stepanavan Youth Center”, “Oxygen” Foundation.

YIC hiking lovers don't stop to discover the beauty of Armenia.
This time they visited "COAF SMART" Center, where they got acquainted with the surroundings and the building of the center itself, activities and programs. The next stop was Hovhannes Tumanyan's museum, which was followed by the Odzun Temple and the impressive Lori fortress. The last stop was Dendropark, which surprised with its rich and beautiful nature.

Cycling Federation held a bicycle tour in Gyumri. The participants of the Girls Bike Club - one of the best promoters of cycling culture in Gyumri - joined the tour.
During the tour, they traveled around Gyumri, visited museums and famous locations.

Staff members, mentors, local and international volunteers of YIC participated in three-days-long training of trainers about “UPSHIFT Model: Engagement Adolescents and Youth”, which UNICEF aims to realize in Armenia.
*“UPSHIFT’ model is a special tool for discovering and developing skills of 12 to 18 years old youngsters.

We hosted the representatives of the “Spitak Helsinki Group” NGO, who were on study visit in YIC.
The participants of the study visit had an opportunity to get acquainted with the activities of YIC, implemented and ongoing projects, and also were consulted on financial management, public relations and project implementation.

ERASMUS+ YOUTH. INFO CENTRE
|
|
|
Erasmus+ Youth. Info Centre continues to provide consultations on the "Erasmus+ Youth" programme and European Voluntary activities of "European Solidarity Corps" programme.
This month, the Centre had info meetings in Dilijan and Ijevan, as well as held webinar dedicated to the European Voluntary Activites of the “European Solidarity Corps” programme.

EUROPEAN VOLUNTARY SERVICE
|
|
|
European voluntary family of YIC was supplemented by two more volunteers. Martina and Jozef came from Czech Republic and Slovak Republic accordingly.
Another EVS volunteer Martin finished his voluntary work.
For two months David Muradyan has been volunteering in Poland and has already managed to share his daily routine with us.

|
A study visit "NETWORKING FOR FUTURE" with participation of youth centers from different European countries took place in Finland. Artur Najaryan, Anna Yeghoyan, Gayane Arakelyan and Ovsanna Papikyan from the “Youth Home” team participated in the event.
The aim of the study visit was to introduce the representatives of participating youth centres from different countries the structure of management, activities and services provided to youngsters.
This month we had an open call for another international project. The training, which will be held in Slovakia, is designed for youth workers, facilitators and educational institutions representatives. The selected participants of the project are Manuk Khachatryan from Teach for Armenia, Shirak State University student and an English club leader in YIC Emilya Yeganyan and YIC staff-member Anna Vardanyan. The program will take place on December 3-11.

The next deadline of Turkey-Armenia Travel Grant is on November 1st. In our next edition you will be introduced to the results of this round. Meanwhile we invite you to watch the videos of our travel grantees sharing their projects and impressions from completed travels.
Asparez Journalists' Club has published an article (in Arm) about our programme through an interview with the Gyumri based staff member Valya Martirosyan. You can read the article here.
In the frames of the Turkey-Armenia Dialogue Programme series we will have a group of doctors and public health specialists visiting Yerevan and Gyumri in mid-November.

|
October of “Youth House” has started with new discussion club “Let’s speak”. Youngsters are gathering together to discuss topics of their interest. The clubs are led by youth workers.
In the centre thematic week of “Gender Equality” took place during which were done workshops, movie screening and meetings.
Success stories of youngsters have been presented in the forms of essays and photobook, in which youngsters share their success stories and achievements in the centre.
The capacity building trainings for youth workers are going on in the “Youth House” and Children of Armenia Foundation (COAF) did training for teachers.
“Youth House” joined to the “Paper is not thrush” initiative and all papers collected in the centre for months were handed over to the members of the initiative.
“Youth House” youngsters celebrated Halloween. During the event youngsters participated on the intellectual game, movie screening, also have party and have treats.
The visits from different organizations continue. This month students from Shirak State University “Social work” department visited the centre to know about its activities. Also we had guests from “Spitak Helsinki group”.
